The idea was that priviledged users would be able to see what the admins can do, but not be allowed to do them themselves. If this proves too frustrating for those users, we could grey out those buttons and/or make them unclickable to ease your concern? This is actually a good point, and we will try to make the privaledged user experience a better one.

What's the point? You should have a moderator role instead, you should have it that normal people can suggest changes to the post and then the moderator confirms or denies the changes. Such as misspelling and rewording.
